Nearby Nature Summer Daycamps offers week-long camps that include adventure, play, nature and science activities, art projects, gardening, park exploration, unstructured play, free play, and Learnscape gardening projects. Camps run rain or shine and use features such as the Edible Schoolyard and Food Forest, the Nest, Squirrel Kitchen, Nature’s Builder’s Playspace, Turtle Sandbox, Hazelnut Hollow, Dig Inn Dirt Box, Mud Kitchen, and a grassy lawn for free play. Small groups are capped at 10–12 kids per camp group, and each child who enrolls in camps gets a free t-shirt.

• Schedule: June 23–August 29, week-long camps with half-day and full-day options
• Price: Base cost $160–$345 per week, with some camps costing an additional $5–$25 per week for special locations or activities; half-day base rate $160 per week for members or $190 per week for non-members; full-day base rate $295 per week for members or $345 per week for non-members; a minimum non-refundable 15% deposit is required to hold a camp space ($15 for scholarship recipients)
Nearby Nature Summer Daycamps groups participants into four age groups: Minnows (ages 3–4, must be potty-trained), Dragonflies (ages 4–5), Tree Frogs (ages 6–8), and Blue Herons (ages 8–11). Wonder Keepers meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, and Natural Neighbors enjoy programs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays, with no camp on July 4th. Registration and payment are handled online through Active Network, and the scholarship application is included in the online registration form, with financial aid available through the Every Child Outside Fund.
Nearby Nature was founded in 1992, and its mission is to foster appreciation of nature nearby and provide tools for ecological living. Staff instructors are experienced educators and First Aid/CPR certified, all assistants and volunteers participate in the camp training program, and all adult staff and volunteers are background checked. Water and bathroom facilities are available at all camp locations, and the program follows High Heat, Air Quality Monitoring, and Health and Safety policies based on guidance from local, state, and national health agencies, along with a Behavior Guidelines Policy.
Nearby Nature has worked with thousands of volunteers and partnered with numerous community organizations. Parent feedback includes comments such as “We genuinely LOVE Nearby Nature. Thank you for everything. Our children have LOVED their experience,” “I LOVE the location. It is magical!,” “Nearby Nature was the best camp ever! I love the environment and teachers.
