Tichy Racing was founded by the Tichy family in the late 1990s in Vancouver, Canada, and the family moved the business to Government Camp, Oregon, in 2000. Parents Milos and Marcela Tichy coached their children Martin, Katerina, and Michael, with the youngest son Richard serving as the family support crew, and the program is now staffed and coached by three generations of the Tichy family and former racers. Katerina retired from competitive racing in 2002, Martin in 2006, and Michael in 2010, and Tichy Racing has been training at Mt. Hood for over 20 years. Tichy Racing states that its mission has evolved to focus on developing and supporting the next generation of athletes, drawing on decades of elite experience and innovative coaching principles.

Tichy Racing offers premier alpine ski training year-round at multiple international destinations, with Mt. Hood as its home base and additional specialized camps in Oregon, Colorado, Austria, Belgium, and Canada. The Tichy Summer Ski Camp is described as the premier summer ski camp in North America, and Tichy Racing is best known for its premier summer training programs at Mount Hood. Each 7-day summer camp offers a wide variety of instruction, flexibility, and special care to suit each racer's needs, with enrollment limited to ensure high training quality and to satisfy safety, local, state, and federal guidelines. The program focuses on small-group instruction tailored for U8 through FIS-age racers and Master racers, blends European technical expertise with North American resilience, and has used panel slalom since 2016. Full-time summer camp is an all-inclusive package from the day of arrival in Oregon to the day of departure and includes race training, coaching, lift tickets, lodging, meals, daily video and analysis, dryland activities, 24-hour supervision, ski testing, transportation, and more, and there is a traditional Monday Night Dinner at Timberline at the end of each camp. Racers ages 10 and older can attend full-time summer camp, and day camp athletes can be as young as 8 with a history of parallel skiing, with day camp options offered at a discounted cost. Day campers can add on meals and transportation, and for the transportation add-on, day campers arrive at the Tichy house by 5:45 a.m. to load skis and gear into the Tichy transport.
