Founded in 2013, Ash Creek Arts Center is managed by an all-volunteer board. Classes are led by talented local teaching artists. The organization’s mission is to serve the people of Independence and Monmouth, Oregon, as well as the surrounding area, by offering a broad range of opportunities for all community members to enjoy and participate in the visual, literary and performing arts. Ash Creek Arts Center is a registered nonprofit in the State of Oregon and a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization. It serves the people of Independence and Monmouth, Oregon, as well as the surrounding area, and partners with local organizations, schools, and community groups. It gratefully acknowledges the generosity of the City of Independence, the City of Monmouth, the Oregon Legislature, the Oregon Cultural Trust, the Oregon Community Foundation, and the Polk County Cultural Coalition for Coronavirus Relief Fund. The board includes Sarah Wolfer (Program Coordinator), Mary Harden (Board President), Adry Clark (Secretary), Carla Mandell (Treasurer), Rebecca McCannell (Board Member), Rebecca Sexton (Board Member), and Peter Carrillo (Board Member). The center is looking for new board members and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
