Camp Fire Central Oregon

Camp Fire Central Oregon offers SummerKids, Teen Service & Leadership, Tumalo Day Camp, Summer STEAM & Robotics, Camp Fire Afterschool, No School Day Camps, Ecology Engineers, Teen Connects, Babysitter Training, and Special Events. Activities include weekly themes, indoor and outdoor spaces, Service Challenges, Junior Counselor and CIT programs, group outdoor learning, LEGO® Robotics, Science + Sparkles, Ecology Engineers, coding with LEGO® Education software, and one-off outdoor programs and community events.

Programs

• SummerKids — Grades 1-12 · Designed for working families, with epic weekly themes, indoor/outdoor spaces, and leadership programs for 7th-9th graders. High schoolers can be Junior Counselors.
• Teen Service & Leadership — Grades 7-12 · Includes Service Challenges, Junior Counselor, and CIT programs focused on community service, leadership skills, and unplugging from technology.
• Tumalo Day Camp — Grades PreK-12 · A group outdoor learning camp in Tumalo State Park. Includes Counselor in Training opportunities for 8th-12th graders.
• Summer STEAM & Robotics — Grades 1-6 · STEAM and robotics camps with options such as Science + Sparkles, LEGO® Robotics, and Ecology Engineers.
• Camp Fire Afterschool — Grades K-5 · 1 to 5 days a week · Offered at Amity Creek Elementary, Bend International School, and Three Rivers School.
• No School Day Camps — Grades K-5 · Most days when Bend-LaPine School District days are out · A day of creativity and fun while growing new skills and making friends.
• Ecology Engineers — Grades 4-5 · Multi-day camps during school breaks · Engineering meets ecology with local field trips and hands-on environmental exploration.
• Robotics — Grades 1-6 · Using LEGO® Education software, youth learn the basics of coding while exploring how motors and sensors work together.
• Ecology Engineers — Grades 3-6 · Weekly outdoor field trips · Engineering meets ecology with local field trips and hands-on environmental exploration.
• Teen Connects — Ages 12-17 · COMING SOON.
• Babysitter Training — Ages 12-17 · A single-day program that teaches babysitting skills and boosts on-the-job confidence and understanding.
• Special Events — One-off outdoor programs, Kids Night Out, community events, outreach, BINGO fundraisers, Autumn Family Faire, Valentine’s for Veterans, and Absolutely Incredible Kid® Day.

About the provider

Camp Fire Central Oregon says it has been helping Central Oregon youth find their sparks for over 100 years and has been an innovative leader in youth development since 1916. Its mission is to connect young people to the outdoors, to others, and to themselves. The program is nationally recognized for excellence and has earned the MESH+ Seal and a "Culture of Safety" award. Programs include service and leadership opportunities, community events, outreach, BINGO fundraisers, Autumn Family Faire, Valentine’s for Veterans, and Absolutely Incredible Kid® Day.

Low cost options and financial assistance are available for most programs. Most fee-based programs require a $10-25 non-refundable fee at registration unless specifically noted. Programs are open to all and Camp Fire Central Oregon does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical challenges, or sexual orientation. Space is limited and many sessions sell out quickly; waitlists are available.
