• Price: On select non-school and in-service days, childcare costs $50 per day; 2025–26 STARS prices are $350 per month for full time (Monday–Friday until 6:00 p.m.), $300 per month for early pick up (Monday–Friday until 4:30 p.m.), and $30 per day for drop-in (select days until 6:00 p.m.); Fun in the Sun costs $160 per week for full-time care and $50 per day for drop-in care; limited scholarships are available; registrations received after May 16th include a $25 registration fee.
Fun in the Sun is an all-day summer camp offered by Philomath Youth Activities Club for children entering 1st grade through age 12 and includes weekly themes with activities such as sports, games, reading, swimming, field trips, science experiments, and arts & crafts projects. A detailed itinerary for Fun in the Sun is available at the beginning of each week of camp. Fun in the Sun has a maximum daily attendance of 50 children, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, with families able to register at any point during the summer. Registration forms must be received at least 24 hours in advance of attendance for both STARS and Fun in the Sun.
For in-service day care, Philomath Youth Activities Club provides two snacks, and families send a sack lunch for their child. For Fun in the Sun, Pioneer Connect is listed among the sponsors with whom Philomath Youth Activities Club partners. For leadership, the Executive Director is Eddie Van Vlack, the Associate Director / Childcare Director is Sarah Woosley, and the Athletic Director / Administrative Coordinator is Adrienne Hecker. Additional childcare and program staff include Childcare Site Director Yosalin Arenas Alvarez; Childcare Teachers Connor Harris, Sarah Logan, Tatum Pope, and Lydia Stark; Clubhouse Staff Chloe Case and Ava Perez; and Assistant Sports Coordinator Tyler Whaley. Eddie Van Vlack is a 1998 graduate of Western Oregon University, Sarah Woosley is a 1999 graduate of Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences, and Adrienne Hecker received a B.A. in English from Oregon State University in 2019.
