Cleveland Youth Baseball & Softball offers Tee Ball, Farm Ball with coach pitch and kid pitch at the end of the season, Minors with 100% kid pitch, Juniors, Seniors, Fall Ball, Winter Workouts, and Spring Baseball. The program includes Opening Day, annual baseball skills assessments, and participation in CCJBA and JBO State tournaments.
• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Schedule: Fall Ball practices 1–2 times per week after school with 8 Sunday games across September and October; Winter Workouts run on Saturdays and Sundays over 6–7 weeks in December and January; Spring Baseball practices begin after Spring Break with games from April through June or July, depending on age and league type.
Cleveland Youth Baseball & Softball welcomes players from across Portland in grades Pre-K through 8th grade to its youth baseball and softball programs. Pre-K and Kindergarten players participate in Tee Ball, 1st and 2nd graders play Farm Ball, 3rd and 4th graders play Minors, 5th and 6th graders play Juniors, and 7th and 8th graders play Seniors. Minor Federal, Juniors, and Seniors teams are formed based on skill level starting at the Minor Federal level and for all teams at the Junior and Senior levels, using annual assessments to place players on teams of similar skill level and experience. Fall Ball registration opens in July and is available for 3rd–8th graders, Winter Workouts registration opens in mid-November for 3rd–8th graders who are registered for the spring season and is capped when full, and Spring Baseball registration opens in early November. All 3rd–8th graders complete a baseball skills assessment each year in January or February, with spring teams formed by mid-February, communication from coaches by mid-March, practices starting the first week of April, and games beginning in late April or early May depending on league. The program uses SportsEngine on desktop and mobile devices for practice and game schedules, team messaging, notifications, and roster information, and all family members who need access are encouraged to create a SportsEngine account.
