Emergent Education offers personalized K–12 tutoring and academic coaching in subjects such as math, science, English Language Arts, history and social studies, and foreign languages. The program provides support in areas including elementary through high school math (from elementary math and Algebra I & II to Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, IB Math, and Probability & Statistics), elementary and middle school science, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, reading and writing, literature, and Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin. The program is led by Eric Sorensen, Founder and Director, and Emily Mensing, Program Manager. Eric Sorensen has over a decade of tutoring experience in math, science, writing, and academic coaching, holds a B.S. with Honors in Environmental Resources Engineering from Cal Poly Humboldt, and is a Certified Tutor through the College Reading & Learning Association. Tutor Ben Schulman has teaching and tutoring experience in STEM and the humanities since 2019 and holds B.A. degrees in Mathematics and in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Lewis and Clark College. Tutor Ron Antlitz has teaching and tutoring experience across subjects and grade levels with an emphasis on special education since 1996, holds a Masters in Teaching from Goucher College, and was named 2023 Clackamas ESD Teacher of the Year.
