The program includes Infant, Mobile Infant, Toddler, and Pre-school/Kindergarten communities, with multi-age classrooms where children work together as a community and care for each other and their environment. It offers 3/4 day and full day schedules, as well as parent education nights. Montessori of Alameda provides healthy snacks made of whole wheat ingredients and organic fruits or vegetables, with no items high in salt, sugar, processed or refined, and all snacks are nut free and do not include animal products.

Experienced, Montessori-certified and trained teachers lead the classrooms, and the school offers a Teacher Education Program to become Montessori accredited at the infant and toddler, preschool and kindergarten, or elementary levels, with classes held in the evenings and on weekends. The mission of Montessori of Alameda is to create a community of children and adults based on the principles of respect, individuality, personal responsibility, and cooperation. The program is a member of the American Montessori Society.
