Junior Programming at Colwood Golf Center includes PGA Junior League, PGA Junior Golf Camps, Half Day Camps, Full Day Camps, Private Junior Lessons, and clinics and events for junior golfers. The 2026 Half Day PGA Camp schedule includes March 23–27; June 15–19; June 22–28; June 29–July 3; July 6–10; July 13–17; July 20–24; July 27–31; August 3–7; August 10–14; and August 17–21. The 2026 Full Day PGA Camp schedule includes June 22–26; July 6–10; July 20–24; July 27–31; August 3–7; and August 17–21. The Portland Golf Academy at Colwood Golf Center states that it is committed to growing the game of golf with a focus on junior golf.
Programs are led by PGA Director of Instruction Jake Bader and PGA Teaching Professional Tom Mueller. Jake Bader received the 2022 NGCOA Player Development Award, the 2020 Oregon PGA Player Development Award, and the 2019 Oregon PGA Youth Player Development Award. Tom Mueller received the 2022 Oregon PGA Professional Development recognition and the 2019 Oregon PGA Player Development Award. The leadership team also includes Joe Crook (Director of Operations – Colwood), Kylen Trevor (Regional General Manager), Jarred Gomez (Regional Sales & Marketing Director), Skyler Nichols (Property Controller), JR Allen (Director of Operations – Eastmoreland), Mark Mackie (Director of Operations – Heron Lakes), and Zach Sickler (Director of Operations – Rose City).
The Portland Golf Academy at Colwood Golf Center partners with The First Tee of Greater Portland, Oregon Junior Golf, PGA of America, and others to provide clinics and events for junior golfers. KemperSports is described as a partner with the City of Portland and Portland Parks & Recreation and helps manage four Portland Parks golf properties: Colwood Golf Center, Eastmoreland Golf Course, Heron Lakes Golf Club, and Rose City Golf Club. PGA Jr. League is described as bringing friends, families, and communities together through golf.
