RAPRD Youth Programs offers a wide range of activities including gymnastics, dance, softball, sports clinics, Art Explorers, Mo'Brickz Virtual Lego Classes, Kids Yoga, Kid Cuisine, and Paint Night. The program also includes photography and editing classes such as Learn Your Canon Camera, Learn Your Nikon Camera, Learn Your Sony Camera, Learn to Edit Pics in Adobe Photoshop Elements, Learn to Edit Pics in Adobe Lightroom CC, and Learn to Edit Pics in Adobe Photoshop CC. Additional options include Diane's Horseback Riding (Beginning and Intermediate), Junior Development Tennis, Orange Ball Tennis, Kendo Beginner and Advanced for Youth & Adults, lap swim, aqua wellness classes, recreation swims, swim lessons, youth swim team, masters swimming, waterpolo, and Adult Softball Leagues with Women's Recreation League and COED Recreation League.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer Program Registration begins April 10 at 6:00am; Adult Softball Leagues run from mid-May through mid-August, with a registration deadline of May 10, 2026; Diane's Horseback Riding classes have a registration deadline 48 hours before the start of class.
• Price: Adult Softball Leagues cost $425 per team.
For Art Explorers, participants are asked to wear an old shirt as the class tends to get messy. Mo'Brickz Virtual Lego Classes use LEGO pieces children have at home. For the Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Lightroom CC, and Adobe Photoshop CC classes, participants need to have the respective software installed before class begins. Diane's Horseback Riding classes provide horses and tack.
Redmond Area Park and Recreation District was incorporated on July 8, 1975. Its mission statement is that RAPRD leads the community to health and well-being by providing fun, high-quality recreational experiences and activities for all. RAPRD offers recreational programs for the greater Redmond, Oregon community and serves the communities of Redmond, Terrebonne, and Tumalo. To honor veterans, RAPRD is introducing the RAPRD Hero Pass for Redmond Area veterans who live within the District boundaries, providing a 20% discount toward RAPRD recreation, fitness or enrichment programming. Programs are offered for all ages including toddler, youth, and adult programs, and RAPRD operates the Cascade Swim Center with a 25 meter indoor pool, a seasonal wading pool and spray pad. The leadership team includes Katie Hammer, Executive Director; Shawna Hicks, Deputy Executive Director - Recreation; Vicki Osbon, Administrative Services Manager; Beth Asigri, Payroll Specialist; Denise Maich, Accounting Specialist; Jessica Rowan, Aquatic Director; Ed Payne, Aquatic Coordinator; Shane Bennett, Head Swim Coach; Brandy Princehorn, Recreation Program Coordinator & Inclusion Coordinator; Teresa Brown, Fitness Coordinator; Kris Davis, Sports Coordinator; and Mike Elam, Parks & Facilities Maintenance Manager.
