Tualatin Youth Basketball Association offers a competitive basketball program for boys and girls in grades 4th through 8th, a youth recreational basketball program for boys and girls in grades 3rd through 8th, and a high school recreational basketball program for boys and girls in grades 9th through 12th. Competitive teams have practices and play in tournaments throughout the season, while the Youth Rec program includes practices and Saturday games, and the High School Rec program includes games during the season. The system in the Youth Rec program is designed to help create balanced teams so everyone can participate and enjoy the game.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Tryouts for competitive programs in early October; competitive practices begin mid/late October with tournaments through the season and possibly into early March; Youth Rec Evaluation Day in late October with practices starting in November and Saturday games from December through February; High School Rec teams formed in late November with games from December through February; registration opens in September.
TYBA is the official feeder program of the state champion Tualatin High School Boys Basketball team and the state champion Tualatin High School Girls Basketball team. Youth basketball players from around the community in grades 3rd through High School are encouraged to register for the programs. The competitive program goals include skill development, teamwork formation, and wins.
The leadership team includes President Greg Wacker and VP - Registrar Kelly Gallagher. AVPs - Registrar are Kathy Church, Carrie Cullison, and Kristin Berg. VP - Treasurer is Wendy O'Riley and AVP - Treasurer is Tara Pattison. VP - Competitive is Kevin Magula, AVP - Competitive - Boys is Sean Harvey, and AVP - Competitive - Girls is Evan Johnson. VP - Youth Rec is Evan Johnson, with AVPs - Youth Rec Jesse Plotz and Kyle Holland. VP - HS Rec is Greg Pawson. Special Projects Coordinators are Kasey Flicker and Craig Evans. Fundraising/Community Sponsorship is led by John Chase, and the Website Coordinator is Evan Johnson.
