Balance Soccer was founded in 2016 under the leadership of Coach Tyler Pagano. Coach Tyler Pagano played for Chicago Sockers FC, was a 4-year NCAA D1 All-Conference Captain at UMass and Valparaiso, and later played with Indiana Invaders FC and in Bolivia. His coaching experience includes Wabash College, serving as an Oregon ODP Head Coach and Regional Training Center Director, and founding Balance Soccer in Portland in 2016. Since 2019, he has been involved with Fields of Dreams Uganda 501c3. The program’s mission is to sharpen individual skills and game intelligence and to fuel confidence, grit, and the art of learning in aspiring players in Portland.

Families receive a packing list noting that campers are responsible for themselves at camp and are reminded not to forget anything important. Camps run simultaneously with Larry Steele Basketball Camps. Campers and families can sign up for a daily call time on a sign-up sheet that Coach Tyler will provide as camp approaches.

Parent feedback includes comments such as a camper “won't stop talking about camp” and that “this camp is literally one of a kind.” Other parents report that their child “learned so much and will definitely be back next year” and describe Coach Tyler as “always professional” and “an excellent role model.” One parent shared that their child says it is “her favorite camp ever” and that their entire team plans to attend next year, and another noted “there's a whole generation of PDX soccer players that won't know a summer without your camp.”
