About
Balance Soccer offers soccer training and a summer camp that focus on time on the field with the ball. The program includes an all-inclusive camp in the woods of the Oregon Coastal Range, with no cell phones or video games at camp. Fields and facilities used for Balance Soccer programs may have unique conditions, including variations in playing surfaces, surrounding environments, and facility regulations.

Balance Soccer was founded in 2016 by Coach Tyler Pagano. Coach Tyler Pagano is a 4-year NCAA D1 All-Conference Captain at UMass and Valparaiso, and after college he played with Indiana Invaders FC and explored the game in Bolivia. He is a former Oregon ODP Head Coach and Regional Training Center Director and has been a key player on the Fields of Dreams Uganda 501c3 since 2019, weaving global perspectives into his sessions. The program describes itself as Portland’s top independent soccer training crew and states that it trains with players of all ages and skill, from pros to first timers, with a focus on individual skills, game intelligence, honest feedback, and skills that shine on and off the field, as well as practices that translate to life skills.
The mission statement says the team sharpens individual skills and game intelligence, fuels confidence, grit, and the art of learning in aspiring players in PDX, and invites players to join to level up their game with honest feedback. Parent and player comments include statements such as “I wish I’d found Balance Soccer many years ago!” and praise for “tons of incredible tips not just about my game but also my mindset.” Other feedback includes “There’s a whole generation of PDX soccer players that won’t know a summer without your camp!”, “She says it is her favorite camp ever!”, and “Our entire team is going to come next year!” The program materials reference © 2015–2025 Balance Soccer.
