Shady Hollow Assisted Riding

Shady Hollow Assisted Riding offers assisted riding, transitional riding, and various lesson programs that include interacting with horses. The program also includes community service opportunities, events, day camps, and special events, all taking place on a working farm setting where participants experience a working farm.

Shady Hollow Assisted Riding is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1998 and operates as a year round working farm that currently cares for over 20 horses, 80 acres of farm land, and over 3 miles of trails. Its stated mission is to provide people of all ages and abilities the benefits of experiencing a working farm and interacting with horses in a supportive equine environment that empowers those with physical, social, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Shady Hollow Assisted Riding is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and offers a supportive equine environment for people of all ages and abilities as well as community events and facility rentals. One parent shared that their two boys with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy feel good about participating at Shady Hollow and that the family is grateful for this activity in their sons’ lives, and another parent reported seeing a remarkable difference in their child since starting assisted and transitional riding at Shady Hollow and would recommend it to others who have a child with special needs.
