Churchville Nature Center Summer Camps

Churchville Nature Center Summer Camp is part of a broader set of programs that include summer camps, themed events, weekend programs, nature walks, campfire programs, and scheduled educational programs for schools, scouts, birthday parties, and private groups. Children at the camp are able to take part in activities connected to events such as the Moths Campfire, Bugs & Critters Nature Walk, Arthropalooza, Singing Insects Campfire, Pleiades Observatory: Summer Stargazing, Spiders Nature Walk, Bats Campfire, Edible Plants Walk, Letterboxing, and Saturday Morning Bird Walks. The camp is offered alongside access to an exhibit-filled visitor center, native wildlife gardens, and a seasonal Native Butterfly House and Botanical Gardens.

• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Schedule: Summer Camp availability includes ages 9–13 during Weeks 6, 7, and 8; ages 4–5 full day during Week 6; and ages 4–5 half day during Weeks 6, 9, and 10.
• Price: Butterfly House and Botanical Gardens admission is $8.00 for adults (14+), $6.00 for seniors (62+), $5.00 for kids ages 4–13, free for children 3 and under, free for active military personnel, and free for current Friends of Churchville Nature Center members; the Moths Campfire and Singing Insects Campfire each cost $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

Churchville Nature Center was founded in 1964 as the first nature center in Bucks County. The mission statement describes it as an environmental education facility that offers two miles of trails, native wildlife gardens, an exhibit-filled visitor center, a seasonal Native Butterfly House, campfire programs, summer camps, and scheduled educational programs for schools, scouts, birthday parties, and private groups. The Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Churchville Nature Center state that they do not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, creed, age, gender, or sexual orientation in programs, activities, or facilities, and they state that they strive to provide a place for all visitors to appreciate the natural beauty of Bucks County in a safe and educational setting.

The Executive Director is Kirsten Becker, the Assistant Director is Peg Mongillo, and the Friends of Churchville Nature Center Board President is Jennifer Wallace. The trails are open dawn to dusk, the Visitor Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and the Butterfly House and Botanical Gardens are open Tuesdays through Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with last entry at 2:30 pm.
