Southampton Summer Day Camp
Southampton Summer Day Camp, 1459 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966
About
Southampton Summer Day Camp offers a wide range of activities, including athletics, aquatics, arts and crafts, creative arts, music, dance, theater, an outdoor challenge program, nature, lake activities, riding, and special events. Campers take part in theater, swimming, sports, Color Games, Carnival Day, the Bunk Talent Show, and the Bucks Futsal Soccer Program as part of the camp experience.
• Schedule: A traditional eight-week real camp experience
Southampton Summer Day Camp describes itself as “A Real Camp Experience” and “The Perfect Place to Grow Up” since 1973, with 51 years of tradition and a history of providing an exceptional experience each summer season for camp families. The camp highlights exceptional special events such as Carnival Day, Color Games, and the Bunk Talent Show, which parents specifically mention as traditions they value. The program is led by Rick and Jacque Blum, creators, owners, and Executive Directors of Southampton Summer Day Camp, and has been “Always Growing…The Southampton Way!” since 1973.
The camp’s mission states that each child and staff person has the right to feel safe and cared for while enjoying activities that are fun and build self-esteem, and that its activities foster a sense of community and belonging. The mission also states that since 1973 it has been the camp’s goal to return campers at the end of each day tired, a little bit dirty, and full of camp stories, and to provide a safe, happy, and positive environment that will stay with campers for life.
Southampton Summer Day Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), which it describes as a national, non-profit organization that supports and promotes high standards and best practices in organized camping, and refers to ACA accreditation as camping’s “good housekeeping seal of approval” and the “gold standard” for the camping industry. The camp notes community connections that include the Bucks Futsal Soccer Program and B&T Catering/B&T’s Catering, which uses the phrase “Every Event Begins With Us.”
Parents report that their children love camp, enjoy theater, swimming, sports, Color Games, making friends, camp spirit, and more, and that their children make friends that last a lifetime and count down until camp begins again. One parent notes that counselors made their daughter feel happy and well taken care of, another says there is “NO place like SSDC” and that they tell others to “LOOK no further,” and another says that from the first day of camp they knew they had made the best decision for their son.
