Flint Hill Farm Educational Center is led by Kathleen Fields, who has been associated with the farm since 1997. Flint Hill Farm went into Farm Preservation in 2001, the Educational Center was established in 2006, and the farm itself dates back to about 1850, with the Cicon and Hassick farmer families living there until it was purchased in 1997. The mission of Flint Hill Farm Educational Center Programs is to bridge the gap between the urban and suburban community and the farm by sharing day-to-day life experiences on a more personal level. The Educational Center is a 501C3 Non-Profit Agro-Educational Center, operates as a Certified Raw Milk Dairy through the PA Department of Agriculture, and is listed with PA Preferred Products. It serves the Greater Lehigh Valley and surrounding area and works closely with organizations including the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Rodale Institute, Lehigh Valley Conservation District, PA Women in Agriculture, Heritage Conservancy, Buy Fresh Buy Local PA, and the Greater Lehigh Valley Food Alliance, and supports community efforts to be good stewards of water, air, and soil resources. The farm uses draft horse teams to provide horse power to everyday work during certain seasons, pastures all animals at least three-quarters of the year, grows herbs in gardens without sprays or pesticides, and operates a daily farm store selling pastured eggs, goat and cow milk artisan cheeses, pasteurized yogurt, and fresh cream butter, with products also available at local farmers markets from May through November and for wholesale restaurant purchase. Please call or order a day ahead for pickup, with payment accepted by cash, check, or credit card.
