Erie Zoo Education Programs and Camps take place on the Erie Zoo grounds, where families can visit during regular zoo hours. During the season, families can explore the zoo and its education offerings while the grounds are open to visitors.

With 2024 marking 100 years of connecting the community with wildlife and nature, the Erie Zoo is celebrating its centennial year. The Erie Zoo unveiled its new centennial logo to begin a year-long 100th anniversary celebration. The mission of the Erie Zoo is to foster appreciation of nature through memorable experiences and meaningful action. The Erie Zoo has been awarded a $2 million grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a competitive state grant awarded to projects with economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical value. The Erie Zoo will also present the region’s first-ever Chinese Lantern Festival, Glow Wild, produced by Hanart Culture, running from April 17th until June 15th and illuminating every Thursday through Sunday evening from 6pm to 10pm as the zoo is transformed into a display of unique, hand-crafted and illuminated art.
