About
Riverbend Nature Camps take place at Riverbend’s 30-acre preserve, which includes meadow, woodland, stream, and pond habitats. The camps are part of Riverbend Environmental Education Center, which connects people to nature through outdoor STEM education and free play in nature while encouraging action to conserve Earth’s resources. Riverbend's aquaponics program has turned a greenhouse into a living classroom since 2014.

Riverbend Environmental Education Center reports a total of 13,735 people served and 13 public education events on the preserve. The organization’s mission states that it focuses on fostering the appreciation and understanding needed to protect the natural world and on getting children out of the classroom and into the outdoors to make science come to life. The Executive Director is Erin Reilly.
One field trip teacher, Monica, described a visit by saying, “Our students had an incredible time at the center. The quote of the day, from one of our students '#bestdayever'.” A former habitat intern, Donna, stated that interning at Riverbend was extremely rewarding and that she uses the knowledge gained there in her future careers in habitat restoration and conservation. A child participant, Avana, age 6, said, “This is the best place ever because we see bugs and creatures. I feel super happy.” Riverbend also lists Corporate Partners under its community involvement.
