LM Summer Camps are provided by Lancaster Mennonite’s skilled faculty and coaching staff. Camps offer a variety of enrichment activities for children who attend any school and are entering grades from early elementary through the end of high school. All camps are on-site at LM.
• Ages: 5–17 years old
Lancaster Mennonite was originally founded in 1942 and is a leading private Christian school offering PreK-12 educational experiences of excellence and character. LM Summer Camps are part of a school community of about 530+ students on one unified campus for grades PreK-12, with about 10% of the student body made up of international students from around the world. The school is accredited by Cognia and Mennonite Education Agency, Mennonite Church USA. Lancaster Mennonite High School competes in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, and younger students can participate in Lancaster Mennonite Youth Athletics (LMYA). The broader school program includes 28 Advanced Placement and Honors courses, 150 traditional courses, SAT results that are consistently above national and state averages, and a 100% college acceptance rate. LM also offers visual arts, drama and music.
LM’s leadership team includes Superintendent Dr. Michael Badriaki; Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Accounts Payable, Diane Gehman; Chief Financial Officer, Lorri Hengst; Bookkeeper, Carrie Shreve; Director of International Programming and Residential Life, Christy (Horst) Good; Director of Enrollment, Claire House; and Director of Donor Guidance and Development, Kate Grieser. Lancaster Mennonite’s mission statement says that it inspires students to be the best they can be and provides a Christ-centered education.
Parents and students have shared experiences from Lancaster Mennonite. One student, Hannah Forwood, described noticing fewer negative influences and being surrounded by people who share the same values and beliefs. A parent and alumnus, Lynette Eby, described the school as a place where a teacher prayed with and encouraged her daughter when she was scared. Another student, Devin Goff, said that Lancaster Mennonite connected him to God and friends and that he met people there whom he believes will be lifelong friends.
