Breezy Point Day School and Camp is a unique pre-school and summer day camp that offers 4 through 8 week programs for campers. Breezy Point offers what it describes as the best of nature and nurture year-round, with many acres full of wildlife, including deer, hawks, eagles, and more. Breezy Point Day School and Camp was established in 1955 and has been family owned and operated since that time. It was founded by Pete and Eleanor Lorenc and was passed down to their daughter, Gale Wiik, and her husband, Doug, in 1986. It is now owned and operated by the Wright family: Bill Sr and Judy, and Bill Jr and Laura, who are a family of educators with over 100 years of combined experience working with children at Breezy Point Day School and Camp. Bill Sr (“Uncle Bill”) began working at Breezy Point in 1971 and has remained an integral part of the program, and Bill Jr, Laura, and Judy also worked at Breezy Point in numerous roles for decades before becoming owners. The program notes that it is celebrating its 50th school year in 2026.
Bill Sr, Bill Jr, and Laura are all retired teachers from local school districts. The program states that its commitment to providing a safe, positive, caring, and enriching environment for children, parents, teachers, staff, and the community is its priority. Breezy Point is an Equal Opportunity Facility.
