Coaches at the camp include the Xcelerate Boys Coaching Staff made up of college coaches, high school coaches, and college lacrosse players. Xcelerate Lacrosse was founded in 2004 by former University of Virginia lacrosse players Steve Anderson and Jay Jalbert.
The camp’s stated philosophy is to have fun while getting better, with a classic summer camp atmosphere where players can improve their skills, build confidence, and make memories, and its mission is to bring out the very best in every player it coaches. The program emphasizes fundamentals, skill development, and scrimmages each day, with a stated on-field camper-to-instructor ratio of 10:1. A detailed camper registration packet with check-in information, health and release forms, emergency contact details, and a list of things to bring is emailed to all registered campers before camp, and health and release forms do not require a doctor’s signature and are collected on the first day. Linens are not provided in the dorm, and suggested spending money is $50. Campers have the option to pre-order an Xcelerate Nike t-shirt during registration through May 1st, and team discounts are available for qualifying group sizes.
