Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Education Programs are part of Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, which was founded in 1988. The programs align with the mission of Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, which is to inspire people to value plants, garden design and the natural world by cultivating plant collections of the Allegheny Plateau and temperate regions, creating display gardens, conducting educational programs and conserving the environment. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden offers nature-based education programs to bring people closer to nature, grows native plant collections, and continues conservation efforts that conserve the environment and cultivate plant collections of the Allegheny Plateau and temperate regions. The Garden features the Scraposaurs exhibition by Dale Lewis, which includes 15 dinosaurs and prehistoric animals built using repurposed materials and found objects and is open through October 2026, as well as Blossom: Gone Native, a celebration of biodiversity and the native plants that make the region special, and an American Lotus (Nelumbo lutes) blooming in the Lotus Pond. Visitors can explore 65 acres of cultivated gardens and woodlands as part of the broader Garden experience connected to these education programs. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is a member of the American Association of Museums (AAM) and American Public Gardens Association (APGA).
