About
SLB Youth Media Center Programs include hands-on work with radio and audio, youth journalism, oral history, self-advocacy, and podcasting. Participants can also take part in school workshops, field trips, extended programs at the SLB Youth Media Center, and live broadcasts of The Saturday Light Brigade radio program.

SLB Radio Productions, Inc. states that its mission is to use radio and audio to amplify voices of youth and members of other communities whose stories are often marginalized, and to educate, empower, and build community. The organization began its work in 1978, established studios in the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in 2004, and expanded again in 2022 by creating a 3,500 sq. ft. Youth Media Center. Its vision includes providing opportunities for youth to stay engaged as they sharpen academic, workforce readiness, technical, and life skills. The founder of the organization is Larry Berger.
