YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Summer Day Camps include activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, sports, team-building games, and themed challenges. Campers take part in weekly 2026 themes like Detectives on the Case, Messy Science Madness, Lights, camera ... Summer!, Celebration Spectacular, Wild Animal Adventures, Pride of Pittsburgh, Galactic Adventures, and Olympic Spirit. The program also offers an overnight camp option at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer, along with Discovery Camps that may include STEM projects, creative arts, performing arts, culinary activities, sports, and nature exploration.

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Summer Day Camps follow a mission that when school is out, the camps keep kids active, engaged, and learning all summer long. Activities during themed weeks can include an escape room challenge, an Eye Spy Take-Home Mission, launching colorful explosions, The Great Goo Gauntlet, taking home an environment-friendly plant, and creating popsicle stick Cars characters. Other activities include dress as your favorite character day, a family movie-themed event, a light the path obstacle course, Everyone’s Birthday Celebration, high-flying straw rockets, creating a handprint macaw, a penguin waddle relay, a nature walk and hunt, and a kindness carnival. Additional offerings include designing a Terrible Towel, dress like your favorite Pittsburgh or local sports team day, a family event to celebrate community and Pittsburgh pride, Chalk Galaxy Art, a don’t drop the asteroid challenge, crafting mini torches, and a torch relay. The program is rooted in the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and financial assistance is available.
