About
Waynesboro Area YMCA Youth Programs and Camps offers activities that include swimming lessons, aquatic fitness, CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training, and the Waves Swim Team with its Little Ripples introductory option. The program also includes Summer Camp, Summer Sports Camp, School Aged Care in Waynesboro and Greencastle, Middle School Engagement, and Child Watch. Additional options include group exercise, a Cancer Support Program, personal training, a personal running coach with Dawn Bergquist, running clinics, basketball, pickleball, Soccer Shots, and volleyball.

The Waynesboro Area YMCA has been serving the Waynesboro, PA area since 1915, following an initial organizing meeting on January 5, 1914 and cornerstone laying on May 5, 1915, and has completed multiple building expansions and renovations in 1979, 1984, 1986, 1989, 1994, 1996, and 2005. The organization describes itself as a mission-minded, cause-driven nonprofit with a focus on the total person—body, mind, and spirit—with a Christian basis. The leadership team includes Dr. Kim Eaton as Executive Director and Dr. Kimberly Eaton as CEO, along with directors and specialists for finance and HR, maintenance and facilities, youth development, member services, programs and aquatic operations, marketing and development, payroll and accounting, and Child Watch. The YMCA notes that after-hours access is available for members to work out 24/7 and that it offers a teen adventure center, Kids’ Zone, and special needs locker rooms. Dr. Kimberly Eaton participates in community efforts such as the Franklin Together Reentry Coalition and youth justice initiatives and has received the International ATHENA Leadership Award at the 2025 Cumberland Valley Business Alliance Awards Breakfast. Ytha Lyons, who serves as Member Service Lead Associate, has written and verbal fluency in Spanish.
