Kids, Inc. offers youth recreational leagues and adult and youth competitive leagues in sports such as indoor soccer, soccer, volleyball, and tackle football. The program focuses on organized team sports and uses the Kids, Inc. Sports Network podcast produced by Kids, Inc. to highlight its activities. As a non-profit youth sports organization, Kids, Inc. includes barrier-free access to sports programs for all children and has no tryouts, so all children can participate in its team sports.

Kids, Inc. was founded in 1945 and has been working with youth in Amarillo, Texas, for over 79 years. Since 1945, it has grown from serving 11 boys from Glenwood Elementary to becoming one of the nation’s largest comprehensive youth sports programs. Each year, Kids, Inc. involves over 18,000 players and 4,000 volunteer coaches and reports having positively impacted over 1 million individuals across the Amarillo area and the Texas Panhandle. Kids, Inc. serves children in the Amarillo/Canyon region and across the Texas Panhandle and is associated with the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame.
The mission of Kids, Inc. is to develop skills, character, and confidence for children in the Amarillo/Canyon region through quality sports experiences. Rockrose Sports Park, which is associated with Kids, Inc., is described as a 90-acre outdoor complex and an athletic complex for the Amarillo/Canyon region and is part of a $30 million capital campaign for a state-of-the-art athletic complex. Rockrose Sports Park was generously donated by Rockrose Development and is described as poised to transform youth athletics in the Texas Panhandle.
The Kids, Inc. leadership and staff team includes Teresa Arrieta, Program Assistant; Haley Bell, Vice President of Development; Keva Bell, Assistant to the President & CEO; Jerry Branch, Director of Programs; Leslie Carrasco, Program Assistant for Facilities & Inventory; Angelica Darnell, Bus & Freda Dugger Sportsplex Office Assistant; and Stacy Knight, Vice President Operations. Haley Bell joined the Kids, Inc. team in 2024, bringing over 30 years of experience as a player, coach, donor, and volunteer within the organization.
One donor, Willie and Amy Daughters from Houston, Texas, describe Kids, Inc. as having been an important part of a young life in the Texas Panhandle and state that Kids, Inc. helps kids learn social skills, teaches them how to win and lose, and how to compete, while giving boys and girls an outlet to stay physically fit. Volunteer coach Eddie Huskey states that a favorite part of coaching and officiating for Kids, Inc. is watching kids have the opportunity to shine in front of their family and teammates and notes that, even when teams lose games, kids are growing and learning during their time as players at Kids, Inc. Volunteer coach and sports official Will Hodge states that he sees kids play sports year after year from kindergarten through middle school, and then sees some go on to play in high school and at the college level, and he notes that Kids, Inc. focuses on developing children’s athletic skills and their character through sports experiences.
