• Ages: 4–14 years old
According to the program’s mission statement, Snapology provides year-round STEAM learning programs where instructors use fun, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, and children explore robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology. Programs are offered in schools, community facilities, homes, and Discovery Centers, and the local Snapology team offers programs at different locations throughout the community including community centers, schools, and other public spaces. The program provides activities for schools, community groups, private events, and for Girl Scout and Scouts BSA groups, and offers a Snapology STEM/STEAM patch for scout groups that complete programs, with patches available at an additional cost. Programs are offered as after-school programs, summer camps, workshops, field trips, birthday parties, assemblies, and custom events, and Snapology brings all the instructional and educational toys needed to host these STEAM programs, camps, and parties.
The Discovery Center is described as an indoor play center with building toys and interactive play areas for children of all ages, with regular Creative Play Hours where families can choose to drop kids off or stay and explore with them. Kids 5 and older can explore the Discovery Center on their own, while younger children require a parent, and there is no charge for adults or parents to play. The curriculum is based on research showing children learn best when actively designing, creating, and exploring, and it supports children of all abilities, including gifted learners, traditional students, and those with special needs such as sensory sensitivities or autism spectrum considerations.
Programs also include options for Girl Scout STEM badges such as Robotics, Space Science Explorer, Space Science Adventurer, Space Science Investigator, and Inventor. One testimonial describes the facility and programs as “Great Facility and programs for Kids.” Another parent notes that a child “loves Snapology and is always excited go! Educational and fun.” A third testimonial from a troop leader states that a Girl Scout troop participated in an architecture class that was enjoyed by the whole troop and describes it as “great for teamwork and learning” with interest in returning for another class.
