About
Scouting America Capitol Area Council Youth Programs include activities such as summer STEAM camp, Cub summer camp, Summer Camp, and Winter Camp. The program also includes camping, camporees, short-term camp, aquatics, climbing and C.O.P.E., shooting sports, STEM activities, district events, and opportunities to work at Lost Pines. Additional activities include conservation awards, an Eagle Reception, high adventure, international experiences, National Jamboree, Order of the Arrow, Report to State, advancement, awards and recognition, religious events, scholarships, flag retirement, youth safety information, and financial help.

The council’s mission statement is to prepare boys and girls from all social, economic, and religious backgrounds to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The council began in 1912. Over time, it has grown to support Scouting programs in 15 Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, DeWitt, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Hays, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, and Williamson.
