The After Hour Kid Power Program includes recreation, creativity activities, fitness, arts and crafts, sports, gaming tournaments, guest speakers, and games. It offers an afterschool program, school break day camps, and summer camps for youth ages 5 to 13. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided daily at the summer camps.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Afterschool program from August 2026 to May 2027, Monday–Friday, generally in the afternoons; school break day camps and summer camps offered June–July
• Price: After School Program 2026–2027 monthly tuition, Vacation Station daily fees, and Summer Camp weekly and daily fees, plus one-time activity fees and late payment and late pick-up fees as listed
Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation operates the After Hour Kid Power Program, which was formerly named Latchkey. The afterschool program is run in partnership with Corpus Christi ISD and Calallen ISD, and the program operates in partnership with these districts. The program is licensed by Texas Health and Human Services. The stated mission is that it is the answer for working and busy parents concerned about leaving their children in unsupervised environments. The staff is trained in child development and age-appropriate activities, and all staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid. Parents may request reasonable accommodations for their child with disabilities by filling out a form or by calling the program. Only online payments are accepted, and fees may be subject to change pending budget approval.
