About the provider

Camp Cook is led by Mary Aragon, the owner, founder, and Culinary & Life Skills Coach. The program says it is back after a thirteen-year hiatus. Mary Aragon describes herself as a self-taught chef, caterer, former cooking school owner, recipe developer, and artist, and she also has ten years of experience as a youth and family minister and eleven years as a home educator. Camp Cook says its mission is to teach people to CONNECT and THRIVE in the kitchen.

Camp Cook teaches all students but says its specialty niche is the neurodiverse student. No previous kitchen or cooking experience is needed for some classes; all skill levels are welcome. Participants should be able to follow simple verbal instructions, mirror simple visually demonstrated directions, work independently in a small group, self-regulate, and be comfortable with hand-on-hand support/guidance. The curriculum is designed for learning in the home environment.
