Kidventure Summer Camps has been operating since 1994 and is in its 32nd season, with over three decades of experience and a history that began as an outgrowth of a summer program at Biron Gymnastics in West Houston. The program reports being trusted by 10,000+ Texas families since 1994, serving over 31 locations and 10,000+ families yearly, with 85% returning year after year and a 4.9/5 average parent rating. Kidventure describes its mission as helping build kids’ lives, supporting their mental, physical, and social well-being, and creating a place where confidence and hope thrive, with the stated goal of growing happy, healthy kids through camp and bringing children together to forge new friendships and personal growth journeys.

Kidventure Summer Camps offers programs for ages 3–16, with Day Camps for ages 3–14 and Overnight Camp selections for ages 8–16, including Safari Overnight Camps in the Texas Hill Country. The program describes itself as “More Than Camp. A Launchpad for Life,” with every activity, conversation, and challenge described as designed with intention, and camp described as a uniquely powerful space for youth development where nothing is accidental and everything is built with purpose and intentionality. The Kidventure Way is described as a philosophy, culture, and compass that emphasizes integrity, kindness, and courage, and Overnight Camp is described as more than just an adventure and as a life experience.

Kidventure states that it hires, trains, and elevates staff who embody high character, emotional intelligence, leadership potential, and genuine care for children, with every team member passing comprehensive background checks and receiving ongoing training. All counselors and camp staff are certified in CPR, First Aid, and emergency response protocols, and the program notes a low camper-to-staff ratio with a maximum 8:1 ratio and a team of 300+ trained, caring staff. Safety-related procedures include secure check-in and check-out, allergy management protocols, emergency communication plans, and shaded outdoor areas with hydration stations.

Kidventure reports that 94% of parents see confidence growth in their children, and the camp community is described as feeling like a second family. Testimonials describe Kidventure as impactful and fun, with staff described as great with kids, very friendly, organized, and going out of their way to make sure kids are having a great time. One parent notes that a 4-year-old camper was happy at drop-off and pick-up for a second summer, that several counselors remembered the child from the previous year, and that the child experienced a day “packed with good times” including splash days, rock walls, puppet shows, bounce houses, foam play, reptile meet and greets, face paint, arts, and crafts. Another testimonial highlights that kids play all day without TV, sleep well at night, and that Kidventure is described as a safe place for kids to express themselves, make new friends, push their imaginations, and have an active and fun summer adventure away from phones and technology.

Kidventure is certified by the American Camp Association, and its Day Camps and Overnight Camps are described as award-winning, with Kidventure registered as a trademark of Kidventure, Inc. The organization notes that it has been trusted by Texas families since 1994 and that it has 30+ years building character. Leadership includes Founder and President Mike McDonell.

Kidventure also describes itself as a partnership between parents, role-model staff, and host facilities, and notes that it serves a record number of families at over 31 locations. In 2022, Kidventure established the non-profit “Ollie’s Kids,” through which it has operated Camp Rainbow Days to provide summer camp experiences to children experiencing homelessness. The program invites communities and facilities to bring a Kidventure program to their area.
