On Stage Ready offers the Meteor Theatre Summer Musical and Meteor Theatre’s Summer Musical Technical Theatre Camp, where students take part in acting, dancing, singing, and audition preparation. Participants can also design and create sets, work with lighting and sound, assist in costume fabrication, and learn about hair and makeup. Students in the technical theatre camp have hands-on experience in running crew positions for the public performance of The Little Mermaid Jr.
• Ages: 9–15 years old
• Schedule: July 6–23, Monday to Thursday, 8 am–5 pm
• Price: Meteor Theatre Summer Musical Technical Theatre Camp: Tuition $1150, Supply fee $25; Meteor Theatre Summer Musical: Supply fee of $150 paid on the first day of camp
On Stage Ready and Meteor Theatre partner with DSISD's Community Education Department for summer camps. On Stage Ready does not charge an enrollment or registration fee, offers private lessons in music, vocals, acting, and dance, and offers the Thunder Drums Performance Group year round. On Stage Ready follows the DSISD school calendar for holidays and for cancellations of lessons and classes due to inclement weather. For both Meteor Theatre camps, students are asked to bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle each day, and parents receive an email with “What to Bring to Camp” before the first day; closed-toe shoes are required for the technical theatre camp, and supply fees are paid to Meteor Theatre on the first day of camp.
