About

M&M Horse Ranch Riding Lessons and Clinics offers Western horseback riding, barn training, horsemanship, groundwork, and group lessons for beginner to advanced riders. Riders can take part in barrel racing, pole bending, cow sorting and sorting, as well as riding clinics, a horse training clinic, and a girls’ summer clinic. Riders may bring their own horse or use one provided, and students help prepare their horse by grooming, tacking up, and caring for the horse before and after the ride.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Horse Training Clinic meets on a Saturday TBA (March–April) from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The program offers a monthly lesson program, clinics for teens and adults, a girls’ summer clinic over three days in July, and small group lessons for beginners through advanced riders. Lessons are tailored for beginner to advanced riders to give them skills and confidence with their horse, with an approach that emphasizes becoming one with the horse and fostering mutual trust and understanding. Training sessions and summer camps are described as being designed to boost students’ confidence. Advanced junior counselors are invited to a local horse event for sorting. Youth volunteer opportunities, an internship program, and summer and year-round instructor, wrangler, and ranch counselor positions are also part of the program.

Ranch riding instructors and part-time riding instructors or trainers are described as having extensive knowledge of horse care and riding safety, being experienced in Western disciplines such as cow work, barrel racing, and Western riding, and being able to communicate effectively to students from beginner through intermediate and advanced levels.
