About

Scout Programs at The Health Museum give scouts a chance to explore health and medical science through hands-on experiences such as dissection, hands-on experiments, and creative workshops. The program includes activities like a Healing Arts workshop in the community through the exhibit Age in Our Times, where participants can create their own memory box in a calm, welcoming studio space and hear the artists speak about their work. Scouts also have access to exhibits that invite them to explore the incredible wonders of the human body, dive into hands-on fun at Leonardo’s Lab, and experience Body Worlds 101 before it leaves Houston, along with exclusive access, late-night labs, lights-out story moments, and a morning celebration.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Wed., Feb. 4, 2026, 11:30 am–2:30 pm, plus a Saturday–Sunday session January 31–February 1

The mission of Scout Programs at The Health Museum is to foster wonder and curiosity about health, medical science, and the human body. Girl Scouts in the program learn essential First Aid skills and Emergency Preparedness. The program is part of a Healing Arts exhibition that reframes what it means to grow older through the perspectives of 38 local artists and writers. The Health Museum describes itself as the most interactive and popular science learning center of its kind and a favorite among Houstonians, with exhibits that are hands-on and immersive and a variety of programs ranging from dissection to hands-on experiments to creative workshops. The museum notes that its volunteers and interns are the backbone of its operations, and it features A Community for Those with Skin Conditions exhibit, which invites visitors to look deeper to discover the beauty, strength, and individuality in every person.
