iD Tech Camps at Rice University offers hands-on activities in coding, game dev, robotics, and 3D printing, along with time for project work in the labs. Campers also take part in ultimate frisbee, capture the flag, kickball, sports, board games, gaming tournaments, movie nights, icebreakers, team-building activities, campus exploration, dress-up days, and raffles.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: One-week day and overnight sessions running from June 8–July 31, with daily check-in around 8:30–9am and wrap-up for day campers around 4:30–5pm
• Price: Starting at $1,099, with payment plans available starting at $375, automatic $50 savings for additional courses or siblings (excluding Online Private Lessons), and a $25 Refer-a-Friend credit for each new referral (excluding Online Private Lessons)
The program’s mission is to create life-changing tech experiences that embolden students to shape the future. iD Tech Camps at Rice University offers day and overnight options for beginner through advanced skill levels and is described as the original and most trusted STEM camp, as well as the nation’s original and most trusted youth STEM educator for kids and teens and the world’s go-to summer STEM educator. Each session blends hands-on learning with campus exploration and traditions like dress-up days, raffles, and gaming tournaments, and courses are powered by iconic partners and exclusive curriculum.
Instruction is led by energetic, USA-based adult instructors recruited from top universities like Stanford and NYU, who complete rigorous background and reference checks along with extensive in-person and virtual training sessions. iD Tech has a 25-year legacy of excellence in STEM education, beginning in 1999 with the first tech camps for kids and teens and growing from 280 students per year to 50,000 students per year, including over 50,000 girls who have graduated from its camps and academies. The leadership team includes mother and daughter co-founders Kathryn and Alexa Ingram-Cauchi, first CEO Pete Ingram-Cauchi, and CEO Tana Barton Haas, and the organization notes adherence to American Camp Association accreditation. This year, iD Tech will offer more scholarships than ever before to students from underserved communities, with a stated goal of helping bridge the digital divide.
