Drobots Company Summer Camps has been offering creative summer camps to students nationwide for over twenty years. The mission of the program is to inspire students to reduce time in front of a computer screen and instead use drone technology in a setting that promotes collaborative project-based learning in a positive educational environment. The program includes multiple options for kids and teens of all experience levels who are interested in drones, robotics, game design, coding, Roblox, LEGO & K’nex robotics, technology, AI, AR, VR, entrepreneurship, engineering, business, and drone competition. Drone camps are a featured program, with no drone experience necessary and no drone equipment needed, and drone programs are described as safe, fun, and educational. StemQuest is a narrative-based hands-on STEM program that unplugs kids from the computer screen and includes active indoor and outdoor adventure using tech, bots, and rovers, along with obstacle challenges and constructing projects inspired by cities, garbage trucks, catamarans, X-Wings, energy catapults, and defense turrets.
The program describes itself as the #1 STEM summer program for kids and teens and offers a variety of game development and computer programming summer camps for boys and girls in grades K–12. It states that beginners, intermediate, and experienced creators are all welcome, and that students can jumpstart their future by learning the same professional computer languages and tools used by Epic Games, Supercell, EA Sports, Apple, Intel, Google, and Facebook. Drobots Company Summer Camps offers multiple programs for young boys and girls who want to explore science, technology, engineering, and math related projects in a fun, safe, and positive environment, with flexible experiences that shift students between indoor activities and the outdoors and a friendly competitive and gamified teaching and learning methodology. The organization’s trademark slogan is “Where Technology Meets Fresh Air™,” and it states that safety is the #1 priority, with drone programs described as safe, fun, and educational and positivity, safety, and fun included.
Adult-led staff are described as being committed to the development of the individual and team, with rigorous hiring standards that attract instructors with years of experience working with kids and teens. The program highlights unique curriculum and well-trained, positively motivated instructors. Drobots Company Summer Camps is honored to be included in Forbes Magazine and The Wall Street Journal and is fully accredited by STEM.org. The organization also offers grant-funded summer programs and turnkey summer camp STEM, robotics, and drone programming for grant-funded solutions, as well as Drobots National & International Drone Competition Series for students in grades 5 to 12, drone overnight and residential camp (Drobots Summer Academy) for grades 5 to 12, an Overnight Summer Academy for grades 7 to 12, and corporate programs, competitions, and events for kids and adults all year long.
Testimonials from parents and professionals describe the program as having strong staff, providing a sense of ownership and working knowledge of quadcopter and related technology, and being a wonderful week of exploration and discovery. One parent notes that most of the program was outside and that their child is now teaching neighborhood kids how to race drones. Another testimonial compares drones to “the new Lego Robotics” and mentions that teens are already using what they learned at Drobots in the classroom. A fourth testimonial calls Drobots Drone Camp the most exciting STEM program the children have been a part of and highlights the combination of creative and explorative activities with time spent outside and not behind a screen all day.
