Cordovan Art School

Cordovan Art School offers art classes and art camps that include painting, pottery, drawing, crafts, wheel throwing, clay handbuilding, glazing, and firing in the kiln. Students can work on anime and fantasy-inspired art, character design with facial expressions, poses, clothing, hair, and fantasy backgrounds, as well as pencil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic art, color and design work, composition, and self-expression through art. The program also includes drawing and sketching, K-Pop themed art, portraits, stylized characters, poster designs, pinch pots, slab-built vases, animal sculptures, mixed-media techniques, handbuilding pottery, and sculpting projects such as monsters, vases, mugs, faces, birdhouses, mice, and other ceramic creations that are designed, shaped, sculpted, and glazed.

• Schedule: Classes and camps run June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026, with options on Monday through Saturday, including morning, afternoon, and early evening time slots.
• Price: Tuition ranges from $164 per month for Art Exploration and Pencil, Pastel, Watercolor & Beyond and Creative Clay From Scratch, to $184 per month for Color & Expression and Handbuilding with Clay.

The Cordovan Art School opened in 2009, and the manager is Paul Howell. The school states a “smile-smile” policy in which everyone who enters is greeted with a smile, and they hope students leave with a smile when class is over. The mission statement says the school aims to create a positive, uplifting, and enjoyable environment where students can relax while they paint, draw, and learn the fundamentals of art and design, and that students and teachers gain a deeper appreciation for the arts and each other. The program notes that students work side-by-side with a professional artist in several classes, offers homeschool art classes for all school ages, and offers a free trial class.
