Project Play is an indoor and outdoor learning studio known for its hybrid school, camps, private celebrations, and open play. The Discovery School hybrid program blends play, STEM, and academic learning experiences, and Project Play also hosts seasonal camps, open play times, and private birthday parties for young children.

Project Play is described as DFW Mid-Cities’ premier learning studio and a growing indoor and outdoor learning studio known for its hybrid Discovery School, camps, celebrations, and meaningful play experiences for children and families. Discovery School is a hybrid school program offered 2, 3, or 4 days per week that provides a hands-on learning experience for children and currently serves early childhood through first grade, with plans to expand through fifth grade. Seasonal camps at Project Play are built for kids ages 3–7 and include hands-on activities, creative play, and movement. Project Play offers private birthday parties for kids aged 1–5 that include exclusive use of the entire indoor playground, a private party room, and hosts who handle party details, with flexible play options and creative add-ons.
Alera is the founder of Project Play. She earned her BS from Baylor University and taught as an elementary educator in both public and private school settings, was named Teacher of the Year in 2015, and received multiple education awards over eight years in the classroom.
The program’s stated mission is that play is powerful and that childhood should be protected. In 2026, Project Play was recognized nationally as a VELA Grant recipient for its innovative school model that blends strong academics, play-based learning, and childhood-centered education.
Every Friday, Project Play hosts Community Play Day, a weekly play experience open to all families that focuses on imagination, connection, and exploration through play.
