Krum ISD Athletics and Extracurriculars includes activities such as football, cheerleading, basketball, track, cross country, volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball, golf, and powerlifting. Students also participate in choir, band, color guard, theater, Student Council, FCCLA, FFA, NHS, UIL, Run Club, Minecraft Writing Club, and NEHS. Additional student-led efforts include the Dyer Safety Patrol Toy Drive, NEHS Animal Shelter Drive, Dodd City Wide Clean-Up, and the Annual Veterans Day of Remembrance Program.

Krum ISD Athletics and Extracurriculars takes place across Krum Middle School, Krum High School, Hattie Dyer Elementary, Blanche Dodd Elementary, and Dixie Hansel Elementary. The program is part of an accredited district that has been distinguished by the state of Texas as a TEA Recognized school district. Krum ISD has grown from serving less than 850 students in the 1991–1992 school year to serving over 2,100 students in the 2020–2021 school year.

The district’s mission is to create a collaborative atmosphere with parents, students, and community members to help students reach their full potential by providing every child with an exceptional education, and to prepare students academically and socially for future challenges while encouraging lifelong learning in a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Krum ISD is home to an award-winning choir, offers a 2-way bilingual Dual Language Program for pre-k through fifth grade, is a Google Apps for Education District, and provides 1-to-1 technology for all secondary students. Krum High School offers many Career and Technical Education programs.

The leadership team connected to these campuses includes Krum High School Counselors Keely Baker and Nadalee Daves, Krum Middle School Counselor Michelle Vanzant, Dodd Counselor Amy Roesler, Dyer Elementary Counselor Cheryl Hendrix, and Dixie Hansel Elementary Early Education Center Counselor Sabrina Henrickson. Community members support students by volunteering on campus, presenting at elementary Career Days, and attending athletic games and fine arts performances. The Krum ISD Education Foundation is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that raises money donated directly back to academic initiatives for students and staff.
