About

Camp Invention gives kids a chance to take on hands-on challenges that include forensic science, entrepreneurship, physics, space exploration and cryptography. Participants collect curious clues, examine suspicious splatters, create a sleuthing gadget, ride the waves of entrepreneurship, experiment with hands-on physics and design an eye-catching billboard boat that really floats. They also build a DIY rocket, launch a mission to transform a planet for future habitation, collect important data, record scientific observations in their space lab, hatch a mysterious animal egg, encounter a dazzling crystal surprise and construct a wearable cryptography device.

Camp Invention is part of an all-new 2026 Camp Invention program that features four experiences called Fur-ensics, Make Waves, Space Morphers and The Infringers. The program includes a Leaders-in-Training option for 7th–9th graders, where LITs help guide campers throughout the week at in-person locations. Curriculum can vary by site, and the education team collaborates with National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees to create new program curricula each year. Camp Invention is one of several education programs that combine hands-on fun and creativity with science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts, and these programs have been honoring the spirit of innovation and promoting inventors as role models since 1973. Since its founding in 1973, the organization behind Camp Invention has impacted more than 4 million children, students, educators and innovators across the nation, and works in partnership with over 2,500 schools and districts nationwide and in Puerto Rico, as well as 2,144 philanthropic partners. In partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the National Inventors Hall of Fame honors the legacies of visionary U.S. patent holders, and its mission is to inspire emerging creators and entrepreneurs through education programs and to honor the history of innovation through its museum and Hall of Fame Inductees. The leadership and education team includes roles such as Director of Program Development, Senior Director of Education, Manager of Program Management, Education Specialist, Curriculum Writer, Senior Content Writer, Editor, Spanish Services Lead & Education Specialist and Director of Science & Product Development.
