Camp Invention at La Grange Elementary School

Camp Invention at La Grange Elementary School features an all-new Camp Invention experience with four themed modules. In Gadget Garage, campers take apart gadgets like a wind-up robot, excavate a useful gearbox, repurpose parts for new creations and design an Etch-n-Glow Wand that lights up and spins. In Ooze and Aahs, children investigate nature’s tiniest organisms, explore slimy substances, wade into the wonders of a freshwater pond, create a device to protect aquatic wildlife and invent a nature-inspired solution to control a new invasive species. In New Heights, children design and build towering superstructures inspired by cutting-edge architecture and materials technologies, then construct, test and modify a sustainable masterpiece before delivering an elevator pitch to investors. In Stuck!, campers act as entrepreneurs as they design an exclusive new product, compete in a prototyping challenge, earn Scrappy Bucks, explore phases of product development and visit the Sticky Situation Station for inspiration.

Camp Invention at La Grange Elementary School is for children entering grades K–6, with Leaders-in-Training spots for students in grades 7–9. The Leaders-in-Training program is for 7th–9th graders, who gain mentoring and collaboration skills while helping guide campers throughout the week at in-person locations. Curriculum can vary per site, and families can preregister for Summer 2027. This site has not locked in all the site details, but registration is open and details will be emailed. Camp Invention operates in partnership with over 1,400 districts nationwide and in Puerto Rico over the past year and is founded and supported in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
