City of Laredo Parks & Recreation – Recreation Centers & Summer Program Sites offers activities such as basketball games and leagues, volleyball games and leagues, Zumba, aerobics, skateboarding, chess, martial arts, boxing, and alternative sports and alternative aerobics. The program also includes INEA classes, computer classes, arts and crafts activities, after school programs, 5k runs, swim meets, tennis and softball tournaments, track and field events and competitions, concerts, fiestas, and holiday celebrations. Aquatics options include water aerobics, lap swimming, learn to swim classes, and pickleball court reservation.

• Schedule: For pickleball court reservation, families can call the main office from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

The City of Laredo Parks & Recreation Department operates 11 recreational centers and 9 summer program sites, along with an Aquatics Division. Its mission is to deliver services that enhance the quality of life of all citizens through educational and recreational programming and to effectively maintain and develop Laredo’s park system. The department maintains 97 parks covering approximately 550 acres, 4 plazas and El Mercado, 18 Little League fields, 7 softball fields, 8 swimming pools, 10 splash parks, hike and bike trails, and various parks with amenities, and it offers rental of pavilions and pools. Unique features include a Special Needs Sensory Room and a new splash pad at North Central Park, and the department uses the motto, “We work hard so that others can play.” Registration is available in person at any Recreation Center or Aquatics Facility while the registration portal is under construction.
