Since 2007, DFW Surf has focused on stand up paddle boarding and wake surfing and is described as the original Wake Surf School. In 2009, the team brought stand up paddleboarding to the area, and in 2011, DFW Surf founder Tyler Marshall, Don Anderson, and Mike Kekoa created the DFW Surf Club. In 2012, the operation expanded to Lake Lewisville, and today the club introduces new people to lake life, community, and time on the water. The DFW Surf Club offers unlimited paddleboard, kayak, and bike usage, unlimited classes and tours, weekly surfing, member parties, discounts on gear, and the option to bring a friend for free.

Basic swimming skills are required for all on-the-water activities, and everyone kayaking must wear a life jacket, while paddleboarders must wear either a life jacket or PFD belt and ankle leash. Dogs are required to wear a life jacket, and dogs paddle free. Anyone under age 18 needs parent or guardian approval and a signed waiver to rent a board or kayak, and kids 12 and younger who are not accompanied by an adult are required to remain close to shore in a designated safe area. Youth ages 12 and younger paddling with a parent’s permission are required to remain close to shore, and there is no age limit as long as participants know how to swim.
