Instruction is provided by PaddleFit Certified Coaches. Since 2007, the organization has focused on stand up paddle boarding and wake surfing, brought stand up paddleboarding to the area in 2009, created the DFW Surf Club in 2011, and expanded operations in 2012. The leadership team includes DFW Surf founder Tyler Marshall, Don Anderson, and Mike Kekoa. The DFW Surf Club was created to unite paddlers and surfers in a Hawaiian-like community and continues to introduce new people to lake life, a sense of community, and time on the water. The program is rated 5 stars on Google, with a 5.0 rating.

Basic swimming skills are required, and all participants must sign a waiver. All rentals include life jackets, paddles, PFD belts, and whistles, with life jackets required for kayaking and either a life jacket or PFD belt and ankle leash while paddleboarding. Dogs paddle free on kayaks or paddleboards and are required to wear a life jacket, which can be bought or rented.
