Camp Balcones Springs

Camp Balcones Springs offers activities such as climbing the Rock Wall, participating in Team Comp, and gathering for Pow-Wows. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins and eat chef-prepared meals that use herbs and vegetables harvested from an on-site garden. The camp is founded on Christian principles and its programming reflects Christian beliefs, with mentors who model Christ’s love through their actions, while welcoming families of all faiths.

Camp Balcones Springs was established in 1993 and is described as a “secret, small paradise.” The camp is led by Christine Baskin, Camp Owner and Director, who is also referred to as a camp mom, and by a forward-thinking, welcoming, and affirming year-round team of seasoned camp professionals. The summer staff is comprised of returning campers, veteran counselors, experienced coaches, and new staff who join each year. Camp Balcones Springs is rooted in the Christian faith and its values, and its mission is to change lives for the better through fun, relationships, and spiritual impact.

Camp Balcones Springs is among Texas’ most progressive camps, redefining the overnight summer camp experience for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. The camp strives to be environmentally friendly by prioritizing zero-waste practices, educating campers to be conscious of their environmental footprint, harvesting herbs and vegetables from an on-site garden for camp cuisine, and incorporating a sustainable dining system into camp programming.
