Camps are configured as an extension of the year-round league, and no two camps are the same.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: 1-Day Camps at different times of the year and 5-Day Summer Camps that run Monday–Friday; 4–5 years camps typically meet 1:00–2:30 pm (with one week listed 11:00–2:30 pm), and 6–14 years camps typically meet 1:00–4:00 pm
• Price: 4–5 years Summer Camps are $99 per week; 6–14 years Summer Camps are $149 per week; a $10 sibling discount is applied by the program
Camps at All Star Basketball McAllen are taught by highly skilled coaches who lead technical skills work, drill sequences, and guided game-situational play. The program states that its goal is to cultivate a love for basketball across all ages in a supportive environment, with a focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball and the love of the game, prioritizing the journey and emphasizing the spirit of the game rather than just the pursuit of victory. Camps are open to children of all skill levels, from very beginners to those seeking advanced training, and families can join any program at any time and be integrated into the current season. The year is divided into three distinct seasons, and camp schedules do not conflict with year-round league practices.
All Star Basketball McAllen also offers gym rentals for adult recreational basketball, with access to basketballs, sound equipment, and a scoreboard upon request. The program runs 3-on-3 basketball leagues in a half-court format with three players on each team, and family and friends are invited to watch 3x3 leagues at no cost. Additional offerings include a 3x3 Women’s Summer League and a 3x3 Men’s Summer League.
Parent reviews describe the facility and staff as professional and “great with the kids,” and one parent reports noticing improvement in a child’s confidence, conditioning, and ball handling since June 2022. Another parent notes that their 11-year-old and 6-year-old were “busy from 1–4 pm” and improved on dribbling, passing, and shooting, and other reviews mention “great coaches and positive environment” and recommend the program highly.
