McAllen Parks & Recreation Youth Programs

McAllen Parks & Recreation Youth Programs are offered through the City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department. The department uses a Summer Activity Guide that includes over 600 programs. Camp McAllen is part of these offerings and includes access to green spaces, a scenic trail system, and a range of outdoor amenities.

The McAllen Parks & Recreation department states that its mission is to improve the quality of life through the provision of well-balanced, high quality recreation programs for the residents of McAllen to use during their leisure time. The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department states that it strives to facilitate wholesome and constructive programs with a measurable value to the community. It also states that it strives to provide attractive and well-maintained major parks and recreation facilities in each sector of the city, within a reasonable distance of surrounding neighborhoods, and to promote environmental conservation, eco and cultural tourism, and socially oriented special events.
