About
Camp Freedom Summer Programs are part of the South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association’s Camp Freedom summer camp experiences for children with diabetes. The summer camp program features several week-long day camps. All summer programs include free summer meals, with breakfast served from 8 am to 9 am and lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm at listed locations and dates.
• Schedule: McAllen Office hours are Monday 9 am–12 pm and Friday 1 pm–4 pm; STJDA Camp Freedom site hours are Monday 1 pm–5 pm, Tuesday–Thursday 8 am–4 pm, and Friday 8 am–12 pm; the summer camp program features several week-long day camps.
The mission of the South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association (STJDA) is personal empowerment, family support, community awareness and public advocacy. STJDA was founded in 2011 and has been serving the Rio Grande Valley for over 14 years. STJDA offers free summer meals to children 0–18 at all summer programs, including breakfast and lunch. STJDA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is an equal opportunity provider. A parent of a child with diabetes stated, “The program is a huge help in educating my whole family about how to help our son. Thank you for the personal attention and services.”
