Camp Allen Summer Camp is the founding summer camp program of Camp Allen, which operates on 1,100 forested acres and includes facilities such as dormitory campsites, family lodges, lakeside log cabins, two lakes, and miles of trails. In 2024, Camp Allen hosted 2,025 summer campers as part of its overall guest programs.
Camp Allen Summer Camp is part of a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas that was established in 1921. Camp Allen’s mission statement is to honor God and enrich lives by being a year-round gathering place for all ages, offering Christian hospitality amidst 1,100 forested acres, and striving for excellence in facilities, service, and programs. In 2024, Camp Allen employed 99 full-time employees and served 61,179 total guests across 838 events, including groups from 12 medical institutions, 57 nonprofits, 132 schools and universities, and 259 churches, as well as 8,014 outdoor education students and faculty. The organization also provides facilities for spiritual, leadership, recreational, and corporate retreats of all ages, offers sponsored programs open to the public, and runs an outdoor education program for students. The leadership team includes President Allen Kight, Summer Camp Director Drew Day, Marketing & Development Director Lauren Day, Executive Chef & Kitchen Director Mark Diorio, Facilities Director Kelly Duckworth, Conference Center Director Josh Fultz, IT Director Cara Hammond, Business Manager Teri Hurst, Director of Programs Lauren Gervais, and Front Desk Manager Charlene Pina. Camp Allen is overseen by a Board of Trustees chaired by The Rt. Rev. Andrew Doyle with Executive Chair Eric Moen and Spiritual Director The Rev. Lacy Largent, along with additional board members and an advisory committee that includes clergy and lay leaders.
