Calhoun County 4-H is part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and offers 4-H and youth development programs. Resources connected to the program include Family and Community Health, Healthy South Texas Programs, Texas Sea Grant, the Texas Master Naturalist Program Mid-Coast Chapter, and Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The Calhoun County 4-H leadership team includes Emilee DeForest, County Extension Agent for 4-H and Youth Development and 4-H Coordinator. Additional county staff connected with the program’s broader resources include Karen Lyssy, County Extension Agent for Family and Community Health and County Coordinator; Stephen Biles, Extension Agent for Integrated Pest Management; Hailey Hayes, County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources; Ralph Shelly, County Extension Agent for Coastal and Marine Resources with Texas Sea Grant; Ellen Heiman, County Office Manager; and John Woods, Extension Demonstration Technician for Integrated Pest Management. The program is part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service network of 250 county offices and more than 900 professional educators, and it is involved with Texas Sea Grant and the Texas Master Naturalist Program Mid-Coast Chapter.
