About
Pirates of the Keystone is a New Holiday Musical Theatre Workshop that focuses on acting, voice, dance, and Musical Theatre Performance. The RCT Stage will be transformed into a pirate ship where competing bands of buccaneers search for the Keystone treasure, and all workshops and classes are performance based. Performances take place in a working, professional theater, and tuition includes instruction, materials and costumes.
• Ages: 8–15 years old
• Schedule: Dec 29–Jan 2, Monday–Friday, 10:00–3:00, with a show on Saturday, Jan 3 at 1:00
• Price: Tuition: $395 plus $35 annual membership fee; $35 annual membership fee required; 2% processing fee on charges
RCT School of Musical Theatre workshops, classes and camps are held at their theater and focus on acting, voice, and dance, with a student/teacher ratio of 1 teacher per 15 students. RCT will supply costumes for performances, with occasional simple items provided by families as noted before dress rehearsals. Students are taught by professionals in the field. The program is part of Repertory Company Theatre, which is celebrating 38–39 years of theater arts education, professional entertainment and community engagement. Repertory Company Theatre has received numerous acting and directing nominations from Broadway World-Dallas and has been voted “best theater company” by DMN Guide and Richardson Living Magazine, “best director” and “Best theater classes for children” by The Dallas Observer, and recognized as a Nickelodeon Parents' Pick. The organization states that a child's welfare, education and development are its top priority. The leadership and production team includes Program Director Phillip Slay; Executive Artistic Director and Director Debra Carter; Main Stage Directors Laura Alley and Michelle Levall; Music Directors Laura Alley, Devon Harper, and Byron Holder; Choreographers Michelle Levall and Kim Buchly; and additional staff for lighting, sound, tech support, instruction, costumes, wardrobe, box office, and administration. Repertory Company Theatre reports approximately 10,000 patrons annually in the Richardson/North Dallas/Plano community.
